Confidence is soaring for Bjorn Baker’s standout colt Warwoven, as the undefeated juvenile seeks a third consecutive victory as the odds-on elect in this weekend’s 2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast.

The spotlight falls on Aquis Park this Saturday for the Gold Coast’s premier race meeting.

With nearly $13 million in total stakes available throughout the day, the afternoon is headlined by the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m).

Currently topping the boards at $1.90 via Ladbrokes, the Baker-trained son of Sword Of State arrives with a perfect record.

He followed up a stylish winning debut at Randwick on December 20 with a dominant three-length display under a heavy 59kg in an Eagle Farm QTIS 2YO Handicap on January 3.

This served as the ultimate preparation for Saturday’s more demanding test, where he appears well-situated dropping back to 57kg.

From the advantageous gate six, regular jockey Rachel King is expected to give him every chance.

He’s got all the upside and it’s not hard to see why he’s so dominant in betting.

The primary threat to the favourite is the Chris and Corey Munce-trained Zip Lock, currently quoted at $7 in Magic Millions 2YO Classic betting.

Zip Lock is out to complete the BJ McLachlan Stakes – Magic Millions 2YO Classic double for the first time since Storm Boy (2023-24)!

Bringing a two-from-two record into the $3 million feature, the progressive Hellbent colt was last seen outmuscling Tornado Valley to win the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes on a rain-affected track.

Both Coolangatta (2021-22) and Storm Boy (2023-24) recently completed this exact double, and market support suggests Zip Lock could be next.

Jockey Martin Harley will guide him from a favourable barrier three.

Rounding out the leading hopes at $9 is Ciaron Maher’s Tornado Valley.

After finishing second in the McLachlan, the Too Darn Hot colt looks to reverse that result from barrier five, with Ethan Brown retaining the ride.

Now having his fourth career start, the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate winner is poised to return to the winner’s circle.

Gai Waterhouse, who captured her fifth Magic Millions 2YO Classic with Storm Boy in 2024, leads a formidable four-pronged attack alongside co-trainer Adrian Bott this year.

The fillies have won 11 of the past 16 editions of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic making Shiki a definite danger this weekend!

Leading the Waterhouse/Bott contingent at $12 is the standout filly Shiki, a daughter of boom sire Too Darn Hot.

History is on her side; fillies have dominated recent results with seven victories between 2017 and 2025, and a total of 11 wins across the last 16 years.

After narrowly taking out the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on debut, Shiki showed her resilience by winning the Aquis Gold Pearl at the Gold Coast last weekend.

She now faces 1200m for the first time on a seven-day backup.

Other value prospects include Maher’s Unit Five ($13), a convincing winner of the Magic Millions Victorian 2YO Classic on debut, and the Tony Gollan-trained Itchintogo ($15) with the Listed Phelan Ready winner also backs up quickly after a five-length demolition in the Aquis Gold Nugget last Saturday.

The 2026 Magic Millions 2YO Classic is scheduled as Race 7 at 4:05pm (AEST) on the Gold Coast’s 10-race program.
