Dangerous track conditions and heavy rainfall have forced today’s Longines Golden Slipper Day 2021 meeting at Rosehill Gardens to be postponed and rescheduled for Saturday the 27^th of March, 2021.

Over 25mm of rain fell on the Rosehill track overnight and with the deluge forecast to continue across the day, Racing NSW stewards and the Australian Turf Club have rescheduled the major race meeting.

All subsequent major race dates over the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival have also now been revised and will take place seven days later than originally scheduled.

“The postponement of the Golden Slipper meeting is unfortunate, but in the circumstances both the ATC and Racing NSW feel that resetting the Carnival one week later is the best overall option for participants and the flow of the Carnival,” Racing NSW Chief Executive Mr Peter V’landys AM said.

Golden Slipper Day and its marquee event – the Group 1 $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) – will go ahead Saturday week only so long as the Rosehill Gardens surface firms and is safe for racing.

The current 2021 Golden Slipper final field of acceptances and barriers will be carried over for the world’s richest race for juveniles.

All other meetings forming the autumn carnival in Sydney will also take place a week later than originally programmed to account for the abandoned Slipper card.

The Championships Day 2 – Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day, Royal Randwick Racecourse – Saturday April 17^th, 2021

Schweppes All Aged Stakes Day, Royal Randwick Racecourse – Saturday April 24^th, 2021

Nominations for the other Golden Slipper Stakes Day races including the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes showdown between Addeybb and Verry Elleegant will be reopened with final acceptances to close at 9am (AEDT) on Wednesday the 24^th of March.
