From Within arrives in great order for Magic Millions 2yo Classic

Champion Sydney trainer Chris Waller has reported that his smart filly From Within has arrived on the Gold Coast in great order prior to running in the $2m Jeep Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) on Saturday.

From Within has recovered well from her debut win in an 1100m 2yo Plate at Canterbury on December 31 and is on track to provide Waller with his first win in the Magic Millions 2yo Classic.

“She has travelled up here well, she is a good horse, she has drawn well, Hugh Bowman rides,” Waller said.

“Could not have been any more impressive in her two trials and her race start to date.’

The only chink Waller can find in From Within’s armour is the second up syndrome but he is confident the Not A Single Doubt filly has enough class to overcome it.

“The big query in second up at this level with the pressure that she is going to be put under on Saturday,” Waller said.

“But all the form people are suggesting that she is the one to beat and I am sure they have taken into consideration that she is only having her second start.”

Hugh Bowman takes over in the Magic Millions 2yo Classic from Glyn Schofield who was aboard From Within when she won her only race start at Canterbury.

From Within drew barrier seven at the original barrier draw but will jump from four if all five emergencies fail to gain a start and has won the first battle with co-favourite Houtzen who will jump from the outside of the sixteen horse field.

From Within and the Toby Edmonds trained Houtzen share favouritism at $4.20 for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic at Ladbrokes.com.au on Friday morning with Chris Munce’s unbeaten colt Ours To Keep well in the betting at $6.

Gold Coast filly Houtzen is undefeated from two race starts and after winning on debut in a 1050m 2yo Handicap at Doomben on December 24 came out and demoralized the field with an all the way four and a half lengths win in an 1100m 2yo Handicap at the Gold Coast last Saturday.

Premiership winning jockey Jeff Lloyd will stick with Houtzen while regular rider Damian Browne will be aboard Ours To Keep who should get the run of the race from barrier two.

Ours To Keep remained undefeated when he made it a hat trick of wins last start by taking out the Group 3 $200,000 Lilivale Stud B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 31.
