Rebel Dane worked home strongly to finish second behind Lankan Rupee in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 12 and will step back up to 1400 metres in the All Aged Stakes this weekend.

The California Dane entire recorded his maiden win at Group 1 level over 1400 metres, taking out the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, but will need a bit of luck to score his second win at the highest level of racing after drawing barrier 10 in the All Aged Stakes barrier draw.

The Joseph Pride-trained duo of Tiger Tees (barrier three) and Steps In Time (barrier six) will also be backing up in the All Aged Stakes  as will Shamexpress (barrier two), who has performed consistently without winning this preparation.

Snitzerland is also a chance of backing-up in the All Aged Stakes, but has been included in the 2014 Victory Stakes final field; with trainer Gerald Ryan planning to run the daughter of Snitzel at whatever venue is set to have the driest track.

Trainer Chris Waller elected not to run Weary in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday and will instead drop the imported galloper back in distance to contest the All Aged Stakes this weekend.

Weary stamped himself as a leading contender for the Doncaster Mile with a classy win in the Group 3 Doncaster Prelude (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on April 5 and ran home bravely to finish third in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 12.

Three-year-olds have won the past two editions of the All Aged Stakes and Atlante, Woodbine and Politeness have all been included in the final field for the Group 1 event on Saturday.

Murray Baker-trained Atlante will be dropping back to 1400 metres, after failing to stay the trip when 12th in the Group 2 Nathan Berry Tulloch Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on April 5, and is chasing his first win in Australia following fair efforts in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Royal Randwick Guineas (1600m).

Woodbine (barrier four) returned to his best form with a second place finish behind Beauty’s Beast in the Listed South Pacific Classic (1400m) at Royal Randwick last weekend and will be making his Group 1 debut, while Politeness (barrier one) is also stepping up to the highest level of racing for the first time after winning the Group 3 P J Bell Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 12.

The 2014 All Aged Stakes field is rounded out by Japanese mare Hana’s Goal (barrier nine) and Graeme Begg-trained Bennetta (barrier five).
