Winx will make her first public appearance since her dominant Cox Plate victory when she contests a barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow, but the star mare will not be the only Group 1 winner in action tomorrow morning.

Winx will contest the opening barrier trial of the morning over 900 metres and she will be joined by stablemates Amicus, Beyond Thankful and El Doute.

John O’Shea also has multiple runners in the barrier trial in the form of the resurgent Complacent, consistent sprinter Generalife, The Metropolitan winner Magic Hurricane and last start winner Vashka.

Complacent and Magic Hurricane are both expected to campaign exclusively in Sydney during the autumn, while Generalife and Vashka could both make the trip to Melbourne for races like the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m).

One of the most interesting horses in the opening barrier trial of the morning is Team Hawkes-trained Our Boy Malachi, who has not been seen at the races since he bled when he finished at the tail of the field in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben on May 23.

There were concerns that Our Boy Malachi may never race again following a nasty colic attack, but he has recovered well and is set to return to the races in the Group 2 Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on January 30.

The second barrier trials of the morning is also packed full of talent and Godolphin will have a very strong hand.

Talented import Bow Creek, Australian Derby runner-up Hauraki, the lightly-raced Pearls and Up And Coming Stakes winner Shards are all set to start their autumn preparations with a trial over 900 metres.

Gerald Ryan also has multiple runners in the form of talented fillies Fireworks and Perignon, while Chris Waller-trained Devil Hawk, out of form sprinter Happy Galaxy, Team Snowden-trained Redzel and expensive yearling Sooboog will all be in action.

Godolphin have an interesting runner in the third barrier trial of the morning in the form of new European import Arab Dawn.

Arab Dawn joined the Godolphin team after he finished third behind Jack Hobbs and Sweeping Up in the Group 3 September Stakes (2414m) at Kempton Park on September 5 and he finished sixth in a barrier trial behind Vashka in a barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens on January 4.

Other interesting trialers at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow include Press Report, Vassal, Start Wondering, Defcon and Cana.
