Rich Enuff On Top Of The Heath 1100 Field

The 2015 Heath 1100 Field has been released and the popular Rich Enuff is set to make his long-awaited return to racing in the Group 3 event that will be held at Caulfield on Saturday.

Rich Enuff stamped himself as a colt to watch when he led from start to finish in the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on August 23 and he went on to take out the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 13 and the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) on September 28.

The Written Tycoon entire was narrowly denied a maiden win at the highest level of racing by Shooting To Win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on October 11 and he was sent to the spelling paddock after he failed to fire in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 1,

Rich Enuff was set for an early 2015 Melbourne Festival Of Racing tilt at the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m), but the colt was plagued by injuries and trainer Ken Keys elected to send his star galloper back to the paddock.

There was speculation that Rich Enuff would be retired to stand at stud, but connections opted to keep the colt in work for another season and he showed that he was ready to return to racing when he recorded two impressive barrier trial victories at Cranbourne on August 10 and August 21.

Another talented sprinter that is set to return to the races for the first time since the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival is Bounding.

Bounding took out the Group 1 Railway Stakes (1200m) in New Zealand at the start of last year, but she is still chasing her maiden race win in Australia after finishing second in the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 19, the Group 2 Gilgai Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on October 4 and the Group 3 Mumm Stakes (1100m) at the same venue on Crown Oaks Day.

The daughter of Lonhro joined Team Snowden at the start of the year and she impressed her next trainers with her performances in barrier trials at Rosehill Gardens on August 4 and August 17.

Robert Smerdon is the only trainer with multiple horses in the 2015 The Heath 1100 field and Under The Louvre and The Bowler are both set to return to the races in the Group 3 event,

Under The Louvre was one of the most consistent performers during the 2015 Melbourne Festival Of Racing and he was placed in both the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on February 28 and the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on May 16, while The Bowler claimed a maiden win at Group level in the RA Lee Stakes (1600m) on May 16.

Paul Beshara-trained Richie’s Vibe, McKay Stakes winner Thermal Current, Coolmore-owned Bull Point and Sir John Monash Stakes winner Miss Promiscuity round out the 2015 Heath 1100 field.
