Rich Enuff opened at a quote of $4.20 in Coolmore Stud Stakes betting markets, but that was quickly snapped up by punters and the wave of support has continued for the Written Tycoon colt, despite the fact that he will be dropping back to 1200 metres after finishing a tough second behind Shooting To Win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 11.

Chris Waller-trained Brazen Beau and the in-form Kuro are both on the second line of betting at a quote of $6 and will be taking winning form into the Coolmore Stud Stakes this weekend.

Kuro has recorded four wins from as many race starts during his 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and he earnt an opportunity at the highest level of racing by taking out the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick on September 20 and the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at the same venue on October 18.

Brazen Beau made his debut down the famous Flemington straight in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 13 and he finished a disappointing fifth, but returned to winning form I the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) and Waller Melbourne stable foreman Justine Hales told TVN that she is happy with the I Am Invincible colt heading into the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

“He had a jump out here on Friday and he was really strong to the line hard held,” Hales said.

“We have Joao Moreira coming back to ride him again and hopefully he will get some cover down the straight.”

The early market mover in Coolmore Stud Stakes betting markets has been Rubick and the talented colt is now into Coolmore Stud Stakes odds of $6.50 after opening at $8.

Rubick missed the start of the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival due to a virus, but he returned to racing with a strong win in the Group 2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on October 11 and trainer Gerald  Ryan believes that the Encosta De Lago colt took plenty of benefit out of his first-up run.

“The horse looks really well and he has come on good,” Ryan told Racing Ahead this morning.

“He has maintained his weight, the coat has come good and he is happy in himself.

“I reckon that he has improved a good bit off his Caulfield run.”

One of the most interesting runners in the 2014 Coolmore Stud Stakes field is talented filly Earthquake and she is the only other horse available at single figure odds in betting for the Group 1 event.

Earthquake made a slow start to her 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign, finishing third in both the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) and Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m), but she returned to a semblance of her best form with a tough win in the Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on October 11.

Trainer John O’Shea admits that there is plenty of talent in the Coolmore Stud Stakes, but he is happy with the condition of the Exceed And Excel filly and remains hopeful she can record a second win at Group 1 level.

“It is a hot Coolmore, but she is in good order and Tawteen came out and won well on Friday night,” O’Shea said at trackwork.

“The form is alright around her and she trialed down the straight on Friday with the blinkers on and we were really happy with her.

“She will run the best race that she can on Saturday.”

There has been a sprinkling of support for Scissor Kick ($16 into $15), but the likes of Ghibellines ($41 out to $61), Galaxy Pegasus ($34 out to $41), Inkling ($34 out to $41) and Bring Me The Maid ($19 out to $26) have all drifted in betting with Ladbrokes Australia.
