Narromine

Narromine Racecourse is a small rural circuit located right in the heart of country New South Wales.

The town of Narromine is located to the west of Dubbo along the Mitchell Highway.

The fact a community of its size can maintain and operate a racecourse on a regular basis is a testament to the commitment to horse racing the local community has.

Narromine Racecourse is run by the Narromine Turf Club and they are able to host five meetings throughout the year.

As you can imagine the irregular nature of the meets ensures big support from both the town itself and further afield in Dubbo.

The feature event on their calendar is the annual running of the Narromine Gold Cup which is scheduled for August, right at the start of the new racing season.

Narromine Racecourse itself can be a very tricky one to negotiate for horses not used to the tight turning track.

Not only are the corners sharp, the shorter events have a short run to the first turn making gate speed crucial.

The track caters for starts from 800m through to 1600m.
