Murwillumbah

Murwillumbah Racecourse is located near the banks of the Tweed river just south of the border between New South Wales and Queensland.

It is just 3km to the north of the town of Murwillumbah and can be easily accessed by the Tweed Valley Highway.

Murwillumbah Racecourse itself is run by the Tweed Valley Jockey Club who come together to host 11 race meetings every year.

These races are spread across both midweek and weekend timeslots and they are roughly spaced one month apart.

The majority of meets are covered by the TAB however there are also a few picnic meets which tend to be well supported by families in the local area.

While most of the time it’s the Murwillumbah community which embrace the circuit their feature event every year also attracts plenty of out of town travellers.

The Murwillumbah Cup is hosted on the last Sunday of every June and big crowds are always in attendance to support their show piece race.

The track itself is relatively small in circumference but some smart planning allows for starts from the 1000m, 1200m, 1400m, 1500m, 1800m and 2000m.
