Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes favourite Loving Gaby draws a wide barrier in the $1.5m Group 1 race for the two year olds over 1200m at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained Loving Gabby (Damian Lane) came up with barrier twelve in the final fourteen horse Blue Diamond Stakes field while her stablemate Bella Rosa (Linda Meech) was also out of luck at the barrier draw and will jump from gate ten.

Loving Gaby sits at the top of the market order for the Blue Diamond Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au at $4.50 ahead of the James Cummings trained Athiri at $6.50.

Athiri was another juvenile who didn’t fare well at the barrier draw and will jump from one from the outside at thirteen with Craig Williams in the saddle.

The Anthony Freedman trained I Am Immortal and Lyre both drew single figure barriers and the Flemington trainer is happy with the progress of both youngsters.

“She (Lyre) galloped extremely well this morning and is in top order heading into the Group 1 feature,” Freedman Racing tweeted this morning.

“We were also very happy with his (I Am Immortal) work this morning and he heads into the race spot on.”

Ben Melham will be aboard I Am Immortal again while Luke Currie will take over from Damian Lane on Lyre.

The Freedman two year olds are both at single figure odds with the unbeaten I Am Immortal marked at $8 just ahead of his stablemate Lyre at $9.

Outsider Game Keeper ($71) drew the rails while $10 chance Shotmaker will jump from the outside gate.
