The Tattersall’s Tiara for the fillies and mares is the last Group 1 race of the 2016 – 2017 racing season and will be run at Doomben for the first time with its distance reduced from 1400m to 1350m following the transfer of the meeting from Eagle Farm because of the substandard state of the track.

The Ben Smith trained In Her Time ran a mighty race to finish second to Impending in the Group 1 $1.5m Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 10 and has been installed as the early $3 favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Tattersall’s Tiara.

The Kurt Goldman trained Eckstein is also among the twenty-nine nominations for the Tattersall’s Tiara and is coming off a last start win over Egyptian Symbol in the Group 3 $150,000 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1300m) at Eagle Farm on May 27.

Egyptian Symbol has raced again for a seventh in the Stradbroke Handicap and is also an entry for the Tattersall’s Tiara along with her stablemate, the Bjorn Baker trained Bonny O’Reilly.

Bonny O’Reilly was impressive in winning the Listed $100,000 Helen Coughlan Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on June 3 before running third to the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained stablemates Prompt Response and My True Love in the Group 2 $200,000 Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 10.

Three year old filly Prompt Response is well in the market for the Tattersall’s Tiara at $7.50 while My True Love is rated as a $12 chance.

The Darren Beadman trained Maternal and Kinshachi ran the quinella in the Listed $100,000 Sky Racing Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich last Saturday and both mares are among the nominations for the Tattersall’s Tiara.

Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller has nominated two, Elle Lou and French Emotion, while the Mel Eggleston trained last start Daybreak Lover winner All Over Bosanova is also an entry.

Miss Gunpowder from the powerful Lindsay Park Team put herself into calculations for the Tattersall’s Tiara with a gutsy last start win in the Listed $100,000 Makers Mark Hinkler Handicap (1200m) at Doomben on June 10.

Early market order for the 2017 Tattersall’s Tiara at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3 In Her Time, $7 Eckstein, $7.50 Prompt Response, $10 Miss Gunpowder, $11 Bonny O’Reilly, Danish Twist, Egyptian Symbol, $12 My True Love, $17 French Emotion, Kinshachi, Maternal, Savoureux, $21 All Over Bosanova, Nancy, Payroll, $26 Bidii Babe, Elle Lou, Miss Cover Girl, Slightly Sweet, Sold For Song, Tycoon Tara, $31 Don’t Tell Mam, Rare Occurrence, $41 Madotti, $51 Cavaloce.
