Unbeaten Queensland filly Vincere Volare gets her chance to be tested against some genuine Golden Slipper contenders when she takes on the Sydneysiders in the Group 2 $300,000 Astus Australia Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Vincere Volare is undefeated from two race starts at Doomben in November and February and is currently number fifteen in the order of entry for the 2019 Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 23.

The Tony Gollan trained filly can guarantee herself a place in the Golden Slipper field if she can win the Reisling Stakes and become exempt from the ballot but could slip out of the top sixteen if one or two of the other fillies below her in the order of entry can win or be placed in front of her on Saturday.

Trainer James Cummings will saddle two fillies in the Reisling Stakes who are outside of the top sixteen for the Golden Slipper but are considered top contenders for the glamour two year old Group 1.

Magic Millions 2yo Classic winner Exhilarates is currently number thirty-one in Golden Slipper order of entry while the undefeated Tenley is on the borderline at number seventeen.

Two outsiders of the Reisling Stakes field Belista and Ready’s Girl could find themselves a spot in the Golden Slipper if they can cause an upset win on the weekend.

Vincere Volare has amassed a total winning margin of seven and a half lengths from her two wins in Brisbane and Gollan is keen to see how that form lines up with the high quality Sydney fillies.

“It’s hard to get a line on the form down there because they seem to be taking it in turns a bit. My only line is through Garibaldi, who ran well down there and she’s a more professional two-year-old than him. I think she’s there to run well,” Gollan told The Courier-Mail.

Gollan has already tested the waters with his crop of two year olds with his colt Garibaldi running fifth, two and half lengths behind Tenley, in the $150,000 Pierro Plate (1100m) at Randwick on February 16.

Tim Clark takes the ride on Vincere Volare who was given the visitor’s draw of barrier nine in the ten horse Reisling Stakes field.

Exhilarates sits at the top of the Reisling Stakes betting at $3.10 with Ladbrokes.com.au just ahead of her stablemate Tenley at $3.80 while Vincere Volare is well in contention at $5.50.
