The eight-year-old has been allocated the topweight of 60kg for his attempt to claim his first win for Victoria’s premier trainer.

In nine starts under Moody, Voila Ici’s best result was a runner-up finish in the Underwood Stakes in October.

Moody will be hoping for a wet track to boost his charge’s chances and he showed promise last start when running third in the Eagle Farm Cup.

Eagle Farm trainer Tony Gollan has a dual-pronged attack with in-form Toowoomba Cup winner Bang On and consistent Brisbane performer Topping.

Bang On is one of two last-start winners in the field, joined by Gerald Ryan’s five-year-old Planetarium.

With class on their side but struggling for form are Group 1 winner Zabeelionaire, 2012 Adelaide Cup winner Rialya and veteran gelding Ginga Dude.

The Ipswich Cup is on three stakes races on the program, with the Listed Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) and the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) also set to take place.

Both races have also attracted full fields and the races are often seen as consolation prizes for those who didn’t quite make the grade in Brisbane’s big Group 1 races.

Some key runners in the Eye Liner field include former Golden Slipper winner Phelan Ready, consistent Gerald Ryan-trained three-year-old Dances On Stars and last year’s runner-up Jetset Lad.

Lining up in the Gai Waterhouse Classic are classy filly Peron, 2012 Golden Slipper fourth Doubtgilly and the Darley-owned Classics.
