Bonneval got the better of Hartnell when they met in the Group 1 $750,000 Hyland Race Colours Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on October 1 with the New Zealand mare taking her winning sequence to six with her one length victory over the James Cummings trained seven year old.

Also among the twenty nominations for the Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes are Bonneval’s stablemate, the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman trained Jon Snow and Lizzie L’Amour.

Hartnell is the only Cummings trained galloper among the nominations but the Godolphin royal blue colours could also be seen on Folkswood if English trainer Charlie Appleby decides to start the English visitor in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Stakes.

Folkswood is also nominated for the Group 1 $500,000 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield on Saturday and Appleby said that the Exceed And Excel gelding will also be entered for the $300,000 Cranbourne Cup at Cranbourne on Sunday.

Champion Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has nominated two of his invaders for the Ladbrokes Caulfield Cup, Johannes Vermeer and Taj Mahal.

Johannes Vermeer was a winner two starts back at the Curragh in Ireland in the Group 3 €65,000 International Stakes (2011m) followed by a second in the Group 3 €63,000 Ballyroan Stakes (2414m) at Leopardstown in Ireland on August 10.

Taj Mahal has competed at Group 1 level at his last four starts and two starts back finished second to Oscar Performance in the Group 1 US$405,00 Secretariat Stakes (2012m) at Arlington in the United States on August 12.

Irish trainer Willie Mullins has nominated Riven Light who is a winner at his last two starts in Ireland at Tipperary and Listowel.
