Ambitious ($4.50 favourite) has only had three runs in Australia for Victorian trainer Anthony Freedman with his best effort being a second two starts back to Almandin in the Group 1 $1.5m Kia Tancred Stakes (2400m) at Rosehill during the 2018 Sydney Autumn Carnival.

The six year old then finished eighth to Winx in the Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on day two of The Championships on April 14

The Mick Price trained Oregon’s Day, now the  $4.60 second pick at Ladbrokes.com.au, has drawn barrier two with Jim Byrne retaining the mount after scoring on the four year old mare in the Group 2 $358,000 Attwood Marshall A.D. Hollindale Stakes (1800m) at the Gold Coast on May 5.

On the third line of betting for the Doomben Cup at Ladbrokes.com.au is Chris Waller’s Japanese import Satono Rasen at $6 just ahead of his stablemates Comin’ Through and Tom Melbourne at $9.50.

Waller, who will saddle up six runners in the Doomben Cup, also has Egg Tart at $10, Life Less Ordinary at $12 and One Foot In Heaven who is one of the outsiders of the field at $41.

The Bruce trained Man Of His word has emerged as a chance for the locals after finishing third to Oregon’s Day in the A.D. Hollindale Stakes and is marked at $21 after drawing the inside barrier.
