There are two Group 1 races on the Super Saturday card and both the Australian Cup and the Newmarket Handicap are excellent betting races.

Merchant Navy is currently a narrow favourites in the 2018 Newmarket Handicap betting market with Ladbrokes, but he will face stiff competition from the likes of Rich Charm ($7), Redkirk Warrior ($8), Booker ($8.50) and Brave Smash ($9).

The Australian Cup is just as good a betting race and Gailo Chop ($3.40) is favourite from the extremely well-backed Almandin ($4.80), The Taj Mahal ($7) and Single Gaze ($8).

2018 Super Saturday Results

Race 1 (12:15pm) – $100,000 The Melbourne Cup Carnival On Sale Handicap Results

It was a family affair for Craig Williams as he steered Demonstrate to victory in the Melbourne Cup Carnival On Sale Handicap at Flemington this afternoon.

Demonstrate is trained by Williams’ father and brother and his wife is on the ownership, so it should come as no surprise that he timed his run to perfection on the former Godolphin-owned galloper.

That is his second win on the trot following his victory at The Valley a fortnight ago.

  • 1st – Demonstrate
  • 2nd – Concelaer
  • 3rd – Sunday Escape

Race 2 (12:50pm) – $100,000 Club Stand Handicap Results

Kings Will Dream made it four wins from as many starts in Australia with a classy win in the Club Stand Handicap at Flemington this afternoon.

Mark Zahra looked as though he would be blocked for a run at the top of the straight, but he eventually found clear running and showed an electric turn-of-foot when asked for an extra effort.

The Mornington Cup is the target for Kings Will Dream this campaign and connections are hoping to secure a place in the Caulfield Cup.

  • 1st – Kings Will Dream
  • 2nd – Riyadh
  • 3rd – Sin To Win

Race 3 (1:25pm) – $100,000 The Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy Results

King’s Command recorded a dominant victory in the 2018 Hong Kong Jockey Club Trophy at Flemington this afternoon.

Ben Thompson took King’s Command straight to the front in the early stages of the race and he was in control throughout.

He kicked clear when asked for an extra effort at the top of the straight and put a massive gap on his rivals to record the biggest win of his career to date.

  • 1st – Kings’s Command
  • 2nd – Tiamo Grace
  • 3rd – Notio

Race 4 (2:05pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Sires’ Produce Stakes Results

Not A Single Cent finished over the top of Seberate to win the 2018 Sires’ Produce Stakes at Flemington this afternoon.

Mark Zahra continued his outstanding form and he timed his run to perfection on the promising two-year-old.

Zahra was full of praise for Not A Single Cent and he believes that he will be even better as an older horse.

  • 1st – Not A Single Cent
  • 2nd – Seberate
  • 3rd – Akkadian

Race 5 (2:40pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Kewney Stakes Results

Bella Martini returned to winning form with a classy effort in the 2018 Kewney Stakes at Flemington this afternoon.

Bella Martini did not have a great deal of luck when she failed to fire in the Typhoon Tracy Stakes, but jockey Dwayne Dunn gave her a perfect ride in the Kewney Stakes.

The talented filly has now recorded four wins from her past five starts and will be sent to the spelling paddock for a well-deserved break.

  • 1st – Bella Martini
  • 2nd – Shokora
  • 3rd – Palazzo Vecchio

Race 6 (3:15pm) – $1,250,000 Group 1 Newmarket Handicap Results

Redkirk Warrior maintained his incredible record down the famous Flemington straight with an excellent win in the 2018 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington this afternoon.

Jockey Regan Bayliss took Redkirk Warrior to the outside rail and took up the running – unlike the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes where he was settled at the tail of the field.

Brave Smash emerged from the pack on the inside rail and he looked like he had the race won, but Redkirk Warrior savaged the line in the final 100 metres to record a history-making win.

  • 1st – Redkirk Warrior
  • 2nd – Brave Smash
  • 3rd – Merchant Navy

Race 7 (4:00pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Schweppervescence Trophy Results

Spanish Reef made it two wins on the trot with a typically tough win in the 2018 Schweppervescence Trophy at Flemington.

There was an avalanche of money for Spanish Reef in the lead-up to the race and she always looked in control of the Group 3 contest.

Craig Williams settled her right on the speed and she was eventually able to fight-off Jester Halo.

  • 1st – Spanish Reef
  • 2nd – Samovare
  • 3rd – Jester Halo

Race 8 (4:35pm) – $1,500,000 Group 1 Australian Cup Results

Harlem snuck up on the inside to record an upset win in the 2018 Australian Cup at Flemington this afternoon.

Gailo Chop hit the front at the 300 metre mark and looked as though he would run away with the race, but Michael Walker snuck up on the rail on Harlem and he savaged the line in the final stages.

Harlem was absolutely friendless in betting in the Australia Cup and he started at over $60 in the market with Ladbrokes.

  • 1st – Harlem
  • 2nd – Gailo Chop
  • 3rd – Ventura Storm

Race 9 (5:20pm) )$120,000 Listed Incognitus Stakes (1100m)
