Scottish Rogue is one of fifteen three year olds nominated for the Sandown Guineas and McEvoy said the Rothesay gelding had pulled up in great order after finishing second to Ringerdingding in the Listed $150,000 Springtime Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on the last day of the four day Melbourne Cup Carnival last Saturday.

“I thought his effort was fantastic last week,” McEvoy told AAP.

“He’s got to back up but he’ll come on from the run.

“He’s seems good. He hasn’t left an oat and obviously he’ll just have an easy week.

“At this stage he’s bright and well.”

The Darren Weir trained Springtime Stakes winner Ringerdingding as well as Scottish Rogue’s stablemate Secret Blaze are among the Sandown Guineas nominations.

Secret Blaze has been placed at two of his three race starts this campaign, his latest being a third to Ranier in the Group 3 $200,000 The Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 3.

Weir has also nominated Junipal who has handled his quick step up in class in great style and at his second run after winning his maiden at Donald on October 9, finished second in the Listed $150,000 TCL TV Stakes (1800m) at Flemington on Kennedy Oaks Day last Thursday.

The Mick Price trained Seabrook is one of two fillies nominated for the Sandown Guineas, the other being the Adelaide filly Havana Heat.

Seabrook is dropping back to her own age group after running sixth against the mares in the Group 1 $500,000 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Derby Day while the Will Clarken trained Havana Heat heads to the Sandown Guineas on the back of a win in a 1600m Maiden at Morphettville on Melbourne Cup Day last Tuesday.

Early betting for the Sandown Guineas at Ladbrokes.com.au has Ringerdingding as the $2.80 favourite ahead of Seabrook at $4 and Junipal at $6.50.
