Starting at the good odds of $16, Tim Clark was able to steer Zenalicious past the well supported $4.20 favourite Invincibella to record a one length win with the runner up’s stablemate Overstep ($6) a close up third.

Clark settled the Les Bridge trained Zenalicious near the tail of the field before weaving a passage along the inside before easing over the heels of Invincibella at the 100m to record her second race win after breaking her maiden status with a mid-week win at Warwick Farm last start.

“We decided to ride her quiet from the awkward gate and knew that she was going to really strong at the end of the 1400m,” Clark said.

“Got the breaks when I needed them. It was a pretty soft win on the line.”

Runner up Invincibella didn’t do her chances any good when she was slow to leave the barriers and after having a nice run midfield looked to have the race in her keeping before the early setback took its toll.

Invincibella was also coming off a mid-week maiden win at Canterbury and a Saturday class win is not far away.

Equal second favourite Smart Amelia ($5.50) settled midfield but never threatened down the middle of the track while Fabvier, also $5.50, was always well back and failed to beat a runner home in the nine horses field.
