Yankee Rose claimed her second Group 1 win two starts back with a victory in the Group 1 $500,000 Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on October 8 and followed that up with a gutsy third behind Winx and Hartnell in the Group 1 $3m Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 22.

The All American filly was also a Group 1 winner during her two year old season when she took out the Group 1 $1m Inglis Sires’ (1400m) at Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Carnival after running second to Capitalist in the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill .

“She has won two Group 1 races, run second in the Golden Slipper and third in the Cox Plate in her first year of racing,’’ trainer David Vandyke told The Courier-Mail.

Yankee Rose sits at the top of the Crown Oaks market order at $1.65 with Ladbrokes.com.au and will be ridden by Blake Shinn who replaces lightweight jockey Dean Yendall who got down to ride her at 47.5kg in the Cox Plate after partnering her to victory in the Spring Champion Stakes.

Shinn has ridden the David Vandyke trained filly once before for a second to Global Glamour in the Group 1 $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 1.

Fifteen fillies have accepted for the Crown Oaks with Yankee Rose drawing barrier thirteen while the $8 second favourite Harlow Gold has drawn in close at gate two.

The Lindsay Park trained Harlow Gold is coming back to race against the fillies after finishing sixth against the colt and geldings in the Group 2 $200,000 LUCRF Super Vase (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 22.

Kiwi filly Eleonora is on the third line of betting at $9 and heads to the Crown Oaks on the back of a win in the Group 3 $150,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Ethereal Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield on October 15.

Ethereal Stakes winning jockey Damien Oliver takes the ride again on Eleonora who has drawn barrier ten.
