An encouraging run from Italian import Wish Come True in the Group 3 $200,000 Carlton Draught Tattersall’s Cup (2200m) at Eagle Farm last Saturday will see the four year old line up for a light Spring Carnival campaign.

Wish Come True was having his fourth run for the Peter Moody stable when he made up plenty of ground for Glen Boss to fail narrowly to run down the front running The Inventor in the Tattersall’s Cup.
Tegan Harrison set up a slow early tempo on the Bevan Laming trained The Inventor which made it hard for the back markers when the race developed into a sprint home.
At his previous start Wish Come True scored an half length win over 2040m at Moonee Valley on June 7 which prompted Moody to travel north with Wish Come True last weekend.
“He ran super and it’s still all ahead of him,” Moody said.
“We’ll look at the early Spring races with him in Sydney but I reckon next autumn is when we’ll see the best of him.”
Moody can see the Aussie Rules entire peaking next Autumn and has had plenty of experience with European imports, especially with Manighar when Moody prepared the grey to win a hat trick of Group 1 wins in the 2012 Autumn.
Manighar won the Group 1 $1m Darley Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington before heading to Sydney to win the Group 1 $400,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and then the Group 1 $2.25m The BMW (2400m) both at Rosehill.
Wish Come True won three times in Rome and also ran second in the 2013 Group 2 Derby Italiano Better (2212m) at Rome before joining the Moody stable.
Moody is currently running second on the Melbourne trainer’s premiership with fifty-five wins and has no chance of reining in tearaway leader Darren Weir who has chalked up seventy-nine winners for the season so far.
