Winx finished her autumn campaign with very impressive victories in both the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) and Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2200m) during the 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival and she made it three wins on the trot when she unleashed a blistering sprint to win the Group 2 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) ay Rosehill Gardens on September 12.

The Street Cry mare opened at a quote of $3 when the 2015 Epsom Handicap field was released yesterday morning and punters were not concerned when she drew a wide barrier.

Chris Waller has an extremely strong hand in the Epsom Handicap and progressive four-year-old Sadler’s Lake is currently on the second line of betting at a quote of $8 after opening at $8.50.

Sadler’s Lake returned to the races with a comfortable victory in the Jockey Trust Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick on September 5 and he stamped himself as a genuine Epsom Handicap contender when he beat Rudy to take out the Group 3 Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m) at Royal Randwick on September 19.

While Winx remains a dominant favourite in Epsom Handicap betting, Silverball has been an early market mover with Ladbrokes and has been backed from $11 into $9.50.

Silverball was set to step-up to 2400 metres for the first time after he took out the Group 3 Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 12, but Waller elected to drop him back to a mile for the Epsom Handicap – the same method that he followed with He’s Your Man when he won the Epsom Handicap last year.

The only other horse that is available at single figure 2015 Epsom Handicap odds is talented mare Lucia Valentina, who has been backed from $9 into $8.50.

Lucia Valentina has not recorded a race win since she took out the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes (2000m) at Flemington a year ago, but she performed well without winning in both the Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on September 5 and the Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m) at the same venue on September 19.

There has been a sprinkling of support in 2015 Epsom Handicap betting for Rudy ($13 into $11), while Entirely Platinum ($10 out to $11), Messene ($21 out to $26), Ecuador ($21 out to $26), Kirramosa ($15 out to $17), Sweynesse ($15 out to $17), Sons Of John ($14 out to $17), Malice ($34 out to $71), Teronado ($61 out to $81) and Pressing ($41 out to $71) have all been on the drift.
