Winning Rupert started his racing career with two wins as two-year-old, including the Group 2 Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben on May 14, but it is more than fair to say that he has gone to another level as a three-year-old.

The Written Tycoon colt returned to racing with a dominant six lengths win in the McInnes Wilson Lawyers Plate (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 3 and he went on to score emphatic victories in the Listed Gold Edition Stakes (1200m) and the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m).

There was a scare earlier in the week when Winning Rupert was found by Racing Queensland stewards lightly short striding in his near foreleg, but he was cleared to take his place in the Magic Millions Guineas.

The only other horse that is available at single-figure 2017 Magic Millions Guineas odds in the betting market with Ladbrokes is two-time Group 1 winning filly Global Glamour.

Global Glamour had no luck whatsoever when she returned to the races in the Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 31 and she stamped herself as a genuine star during the 2016 Spring Racing Carnival when she won both the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 1 and the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 8.

Kurt Goldman-trained Eckstein is the only other horse in the Magic Millions Guineas betting market that has received any real support and he is now into $11 to record an upset win.

Eckstein returned to the races with a narrow win in the Listed Mode Plate (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 10 and he made it four wins on the trot with his victory in the Nerang RSL Handicap (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 7.

There has been a sprinkling of support for Dam Ready ($34 into $31), River Racer ($26 into $19) and Miss Wonderland ($34 into $26), while Crack Me Up ($51 out to $67), Mr Markou ($101 out to $126), Faraway Town ($41 out to $61) and Pipeline ($34 out to $41) have all been on the drift.
