Cosmic Endeavour will make her long-awaited return to racing in the 2015 Triscay Stakes at Royal Randwick tomorrow and trainer Gai Waterhouse could not be happier with the talented mare ahead of the Group 3 event.

Cosmic Endeavour recorded her maiden win at stakes level in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick in April last year and she went on to take out the Inglis Guineas (1400m) at Scone on May 17, the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 and the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) at the same venue on June 21.
Waterhouse elected to give Cosmic Endeavour a lengthy stint in the spelling paddock following her Tattersall’s Tiara win, but Waterhouse believes that the Northern Meteor mare has returned in outstanding form and is thrilled with her condition heading into the 2015 Triscay Stakes.
“Cosmic Endeavour is quiet a remarkable daughter of Northern Meteor and she has literally beaten the boys and she against the mares,” Waterhouse told Racing Ahead.
“I know that she is carrying a bit of pudding, but she is a very, big strong mare.
“Today I could not be happier with Cosmic Endeavour going off the track, she is bonny, absolutely bonny.”
Cosmic Endeavour will be joined in the 2015 Triscay Stakes field by stablemate Forever Loved, who will be returning to the races for the first time since she finished at the tail of the field in the Group 1 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington on Victoria Derby Day last year.
Forever Loved performed inconsistently during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival, but she showed what she was capable of when she scored a most impressive victory in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on October 4.
Waterhouse believes that Forever Loved will be better suited when she has the opportunity to step-up to a mile, but she is happy with the condition of the mare and feels that she is ready to run well in the Triscay Stakes.
“Forever Loved is looking for a bit further,” Waterhouse said.
“I’m not saying that she is a distance mare, she is probably about a miler, but she is extremely happy and she will run very nicely.
“I would think that Cosmic Endeavour would be in front of her, but they are both doing well.”
Cosmic Endeavour is currently available at 2015 Triscay Stakes odds of $2.60 and is a clear favourite with Ladbrokes, while Forever Loved is at a quote of $9.
