Waterhouse still positive after horror barriers for Magic Millions duo

Tulloch Lodge co-trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott are still thinking positively after their Magic Millions duo of two year old Invincible Star and three year old Global Glamour came up with horror barrier draws at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Invincible Star came up with barrier sixteen in the original draw for the $2m Jeep Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) but could move in four spots at jump time if all five emergencies fail to gain a start while Global Glamour will jump from the outside barrier of sixteen in the $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m).

Waterhouse tweeted after the barrier draw that she and Bott were still thinking positively heading towards the Saturday’s rich $10 million Magic Millions race day.

“Both Adrian & I see barriers drawn for Global Glamour & Invincible Star as a positive. Excited for a great day of racing @mmsnippets SAT,” Waterhouse tweeted.

Waterhouse also said that that both fillies were in great shape for their assignment on the weekend and pleased the stable in their work on Tuesday morning.

“Invincible Star & Global Glamour worked along this morning ahead of SAT. Both in sensational order,” Waterhouse tweeted.

Invincible Star is well in the market at $8.50 at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic on the strength of her debut win in the Group 3 $150,000 Ottawa Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on November 1 and will be ridden by Tim Clark.

Clark will also be aboard Global Glamour in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas and the Star Witness filly is rated as a $5.50 chance behind the short priced $1.50 favourite Winning Rupert.

Global Glamour showed her class in the Spring with back to back Group 1 wins in the $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 1 and a week later in the $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield.

But the filly had no luck when held up for a run in the straight when resuming for a ninth in the Listed $100,000 Nudgee Quality Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 31 against the older mares and will appreciate the drop back to her own age group in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas.
