Among the contingent Berry rode were import Glencadam Gold, untapped three-year-old Raceway and Rosehill Guineas winner Laser Hawk.

The horse that most impressed the talented hoop was Laser Hawk who showed he has completely recovered from the leg injury that ruled him out of the spring.

“Laser Hawk won his trial this morning at Randwick and was most impressive doing so,” Berry said on twitter.

On the four-year-old’s autumn agenda could be big Group 1 events such as the Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and the BMW (2400m) after he announced himself as one of the country’s most promising horses last autumn when winning the Rosehill Guineas and placing in the Randwick Guineas and Australian Derby.

Glencadam Gold was having his first public hit-out since running sixth in the Melbourne Cup and finished third under a strong hold.

Berry is predicting a big future for the former British stayer and said he will benefit greatly from this morning’s 1200m workout.

“Glencadam Gold trialled in great fashion this morning finishing third. He will benefit a lot from his trial,” Berry said.

The Refuse To Blend gelding won the Group 1 Metropolitan in his first Australian campaign during the spring and could be aimed at events such as the Sydney Cup at the Autumn Carnival.

Also impressing Berry was former rig Raceway who won his 1050m trial by 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Ashokan.

The chestnut gelding was fifth in the Golden Slipper last autumn but he was restricted to just one disappointing start during the spring.
