Waterhouse and Oliver combined to take out the Group 2 $220,000 Sportingbet Alister Clark Stakes (2040m) at Moonee Valley last night with Pheidon and Bull Point gives them a great opportunity to keep the winning momentum going.

Oliver and Bull Point combined to win the Group 3 $135,000 John Moule Manfred Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 1 before the pair finished fourth to Moment Of Change in the Group 1 $500,000 Cathay Pacific Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 22.

Waterhouse decided to bypass the Group 1 $500,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 1 and return Bull Point to Sydney to prepare for the Royal Randwick Guineas.

Stable foreman Mark Newnham is expecting Oliver to ride Bull Point back in the field more after chasing the leader Moment Of Change in the Futurity Stakes.

“Damien said he thinks he had him a touch close last start,” Newnham said.

“Moment Of Change runs fast sectionals and he did the donkey work. Damien feels he will be better if he makes a run at them.”

Bull Point has firmed slightly overnight in the Ladbrokes.com.au Royal Randwick Guineas market order and is now an $8 chance after $8.50 was bet yesterday.

Ruling favourite El Roca has also firmed to be $4 in from $4.20 while fellow Kiwi colt Atlante has eased to $7 after $6 was on offer on Friday.

The Bart And James Cummings trained Eurozone has remained steady at $8 while Dissident has eased a point to $9 even though there are good reports coming out of the Peter Moody stable.

“Dissident is going really well, he’s trained on nicely since his win in the Hobartville Stakes, ‘’ Moody’s stable representative Claire Cunningham told The Daily Telegraph.

“The step up to 1600m is going to suit this horse.’

“He has drawn a little awkwardly but he is very tough and just needs a little luck and he will be hard to beat.’’

Dissident is racing in top form and goes into today’s race following his win in the Group 2 $200,000 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill a fortnight ago.

Kiwi colt El Roca continues to attract betting support following his two solid showing so far in Sydney this Autumn.

The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young trained Fastnet Rock colt scored a convincing win in the Listed $125,000 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on February 15 before running second to Terravista in the Group 3 $150,000 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Warwick Farm last Saturday.
