Leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller is delighted with the condition of Foreteller but does not believe the dual Group 1 winner will upset glamour mare Atlantic Jewel in the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes (2000m) tomorrow.

Foreteller has already played spoiler once this spring, upsetting Puissance De Lune to win the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m), but it will be an ever greater upset if he can lower the colours of Atlantic Jewel on Saturday.
Waller is expecting the Dansili gelding to improve on his finish in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m) but believes the rest of the field is simply racing for second in the Group 1 event tomorrow.
“He looks superb,” Waller told Sky Racing HQ.
“Like most of the horses in the Underwood he had a track gallop, they went that slow, and he was one of the ones at the back looking for a run and he never really got clear space.
“He is all in order for tomorrow.
“Obviously he is racing against a very, very good horse and we, like all the other entrants against Atlantic Jewel, are just hoping for the best.
“Our horse already got the Group 1 on the board this spring and hopefully he can at least get some good prizemoney.”
The Caulfield Stakes is expected to be run at a quick tempo; with Spacecraft likely to lead at all costs and connections of Massiyn informing Racing Victoria stewards that jockey Hugh Bowman will attempt to ride the imported stayer in a forward position.
For a backmarker like Foreteller a fast tempo is genuinely ideal but Waller revealed that the six-year-old actually performs better when he has the opportunity to come off a slower pace.
“He is a slightly different horse; he actually runs his better races off a quiet tempo,” Waller said.
“Obviously last start was too quiet but a mid-range tempo is suitable for him.
“The Australian Cup this year was run at breakneck speed and he never got into the race, which is what I fear at breakneck tempo.
“Hopefully that is not the case tomorrow.”
Foreteller will be Waller’s first ever runner in the Caulfield Stakes.
