Ambience broke through for her maiden race with a fast-finishing victory at Kembla Grange on September 12 and he handled the step-up in class to Listed level with aplomb to prove far too good for her rivals in the final stages of the race.

Jockey James McDonald timed his run to perfection on Ambience in the Dulcify Quality and he is confident that the half-sister to Pierro is a horse to follow when she steps-up in trip during the 2015 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

“She has always shown a lot of ability and the stable has done a wonderful job, she was well-placed,” McDonald said.

“She won with a bit of authority today and she is a good filly going forward.

“She got a little bit keen through the mid stages, but she is beautifully bred, she is a half to Pierro, and she has some ability.”

Godolphin stable representative Darren Beadman said that he has always had a high opinion of Ambience and he is confident that the Street Cry filly will continue to improve as she gets more racing experience under her belt.

Ambience has been included in the nominations for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m), Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) and Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m), but Beadman said that he expects the three-year-old to have her next race start in the 2015 Wakeful Stakes.

“She has never run a bad race,” Beadman said.

“Her first start was over 1400 at Newcastle and the other day when she won her maiden she just ambled up to them.

“She has staying potential written all over her.

“I think that John would try to look at something like the Wakeful and see how she comes through that and that looks like the ideal type of race for her.

“She is a very casual filly, she doesn’t get herself work up and in her races she gives herself a chance.

“She works with the rider, which is what you need with a staying filly.

“There are staying bloodlines on both sides.”

Ambience is currently available at 2015 Crown Oaks odds of $7 with Ladbrokes and she is now an equal favourite with Pasadena Girl and Stay With Me.
