Wait For No One top chance in C&Gs Blue Diamond Preview

An inside barrier draw has given co-trainer Tom Dabernig plenty of confidence for Wait For No One heading into the Listed $150,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (1000m) at Caulfield on Thursday.

Wait For No One will get every chance from barrier two in the ten horse field with Regan Bayliss in the saddle and Dabernig is looking forward to the Lonhro colt finding the winner’s stall again.

“He is fantastic. He didn’t have long off. He was impressive when he won at Caulfield so we have nice confidence from barrier two,’ Dabernig told RSN’s Racing Ahead.

“He is a fast two year old and that will sit right on the speed.”

“So I think he will be hard to beat. He is very professional.”

Wait For No One scored a narrow win on debut in the Listed $120,000 Inglis Debutant Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on October 8 but at his next start he had to do plenty of work into a strong head wind when third to Aspect in the Group 3 $150,000 Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington November 5.

Dabernig, who is co-trainer at Lindsay Park with David and Ben Hayes, has reported that Wait For No One has done well and worked well since his Flemington third.

“His run down the straight, it was a really shocking head wind and he led into the wind and he certainly didn’t disgrace himself on that occasions,” Dabernig said.

“He has done well and worked well heading it the race.”

Wait For No One has been well supported at Ladbrokes.com.au since betting opened on Tuesday and is currently the $3.10 favourite for the colts and geldings Blue Diamond Preview.

The Tony McEvoy trained Azazel is on the second line of betting at $4 ahead of Craig Williams’ mount Property at $5 and Team Hawkes’ first starter Overshare at $6.50.
