VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final Odds Favour Macedon Lodge

The Listed VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final (1600m) has drawn arguably the most talented field of Saturday’s nine race card at Flemington, however it is the Macedon Lodge runner Chance To Dance that remains a clear favourite.

Chance To Dance has been competitive through two starts since returning in May, and is sure to relish the conditions of the VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final with close to a month between runs.

Running on for fourth in the Better Loosen Handicap (1400m) first-up, the Teofilo gelding was caught at the tail of the field in the GJK Facility Cup (1600m) on June 18th but produced a smart turn of foot to run on for fifth.

Craig Williams will take the ride on Chance To Dance on Saturday, who currently ties up the top line of VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final betting at a $5 quote.

Kenjorwood has returned to racing in typically strong form this time and while undoubtedly requiring some luck in running from barrier 14, is a good chance of delivering on VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final odds of $7.

Ending his time under the care of Peter Moody a credible fourth in the Group 2 Blamey Stakes (1600m) on March 12th, Kenjorwood had just one start for Ciaron Maher but failed to fire when 12th in the Ladbrokes Odds Boost Handicap (1600m) on April 9th.

Immediately responding when transferred to Darren Weir’s Wangoom stable, the Snippetson gelding ran third in the GJK Facility Cup last time and will enjoy a second-consecutive tilt at a mile on Saturday.

Jacquinot Bay is seeking a third-consecutive race win when he lines up for the VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final, but has been charged with lugging a race-high 60kgs from the somewhat wide and awkward barrier 11.

Savaging the line for success in the Rod Johnson Handicap (1400m) first-up on June 11th, the Galileo gelding repeated the dose in the Brian Beattie Handicap (1400m) last time out on June 25th, when also carrying 60kgs.

Trainers David Hayes and Tom Dabernig will launch a multi-pronged attack in the VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final, after also confirming four-year-old Petrology for a start.

Petrology is a stakes winner at the distance and this time in, but is currently available at VRC-CRV Winter Championship Final odds of $34 with Ladbrokes Australia following a couple of lacklustre performances most recently.
