Last start winner Viddora will meet Miss Gunpowder 1kg better for betting her when they clash again in the Listed $100,000 Projection Graphics Redelva Stakes (1100m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

The Lloyd Kennewell trained Viddora carried 54.5kg with Joe Bowditch in the saddle in winning a 1050m three year old Handicap at Morphettville a fortnight ago and drops to 54kg in the Redelva Stakes.
While Miss Gunpowder goes up to 58kg under the set weights and penalties conditions of the Redelva Stakes after being beaten half a length when second to Viddora with 57.5kg for apprentice Emily Finnegan.
“Being a set weights and penalties race, we haven’t won a stakes race yet so we don’t get a penalty,” Kennewell told RSN’s Racing Ahead.
“We have the 54kg again and hopefully that’s the difference to being pretty hard to beat.”
“She is pretty fit, she is rearing to go. She had the wood on Miss Gunpowder the other day for fitness. Miss Gunpowder was gallant in defeat.”
Regular rider Joe Bowditch has retained the ride on Viddora while leading Morphettville trainer Phillip Stokes has switched to senior jockey Dom Tourneur in the non-claiming Redelva Stakes.
Kennewell concedes that Viddora is facing a smart field of three year olds and admits that she will need plenty of luck from barrier eight in the eleven horse field to chalk up a hat trick of wins after scoring over 1050m at Oakbank two starts back.
“A very good quality field. There are Group winners in there. My filly has raced against eight off them and beaten all eight, so hopefully that tells a story,” Kennewell said.
Viddora was able to overcome a wide gate when she raced outside the leaders before winning at Morphettville last start and Kennewell is hoping that Bowditch can get some cover in a race that looks like there will be plenty of speed up front.
“She drew wide there the other day. She sat three wide no cover outside the leaders, but she was length off of them, just travelling within herself and then she quickened lovely, she ran 33.4 seconds for the last 600m which was the fastest for the day,” Kennewell said.
“She has a good turn of foot. There looks really good speed in this race.”
Apart from Miss Gunpowder, Kennewell considers Andrew Noblet’s filly Super Cash as one of the hardest to beat.
“Noblet’s horse coming over Super Cash looks like it will be extremely hard to beat also,” Kennewell said.
The Written Tycoon filly was a Flemington winner two starts back when she took out the Listed $120,000 Goodwood Racecourse Trophy (1100m) on March 12 before finishing fifth to Tempt Me Not in the Group 3 $200,000 Dilmah Tea P J Bell Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on the first day of ‘The Championships’ on April 2.
Another good effort from Viddora will see Kennewell aim the filly towards the Group 2 $250,000 Euclase Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville in a fortnight.
