Verbal Assault scored a four and a half lengths win on debut in a 1010m two year old Handicap on his home track at Murwillumbah and trainer Matt Dun will give the Deep Field colt a chance to gain a spot in the glamour juvenile race when he starts in the $125,000 Aquis Gold Nugget 2yo Colts and Geldings (1100m) at the Gold Coast on January 4.

“He is a nice colt and he is starting to learn what it is all about. Verbal Assault has got better with time and he did trial well leading into the race,” Dunn told AAP.

“He will run in the colts and geldings division of the two-year-old race the week before the Magic Millions Classic.

“Hopefully, that can get him into the Classic. He would be a chance if he continues to improve.”

Verbal Assault is currently number 35 in the order of entry for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic with $11,200 of eligible prizemoney in the bank and he would have to collect a fair share of the $125,000 on offer in the Aquis Gold Nugget 2yo Colts and Geldings in find a place in the final field.
