Seventy youngsters remain the Sires Produce Stakes which is one of four Group 1 races run on the first day of ‘The Championships’’.

Waterhouse’s other two year olds remaining in the Sires Produce Stakes are Blackmaker, Northern Conqueror, Raphael’s Cat, Red Knot, Street Rapper, Carriages, English, Right Of Way, Rock Candy, Rosie Quadrille, Sempre Libera and Speak Fondly.

As well as Vancouver jumping to the top of the order of entry for the Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 21 after winning the Group 2 $300,000 UNSW Todman Stakes (1200m) at Randwick last Saturday, the Medaglia D’Oro colt was also installed the new $3.20 Golden Slipper favourite.

Todman Stakes winning jockey Tommy Berry has no worries the unbeaten colt will run out a strong 1400m and is tipping him to win the two year old Triple Crown – the Golden Slipper, the Sires Produce Stakes and the Group 1 $400,000 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 18.

“I’m more confident Vancouver will win the triple crown, not just the Golden Slipper,’’ Berry said.

Encosta De Lago filly English showed that she one to watch in the future when scored a solid win in the Group 2 $300,000 Guinness Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Randwick last Saturday.

Trainers Peter and Paul Snowden will miss the Golden Slipper with Pride Of Dubai and head straight to the Sires Produce Stakes after winning the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Connections of Pride Of Dubai paid $55,000 to run in the $1m Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 28 and the Street Cry colt repaid them with a victory in the Group 1 for the two year olds.

The Snowdens have left five two year olds in the first acceptance list for the Sires Produce Stakes and as well as Pride Of Dubai have Delawar, Paceman, Wolf Cry and Tap This still among the first acceptances.

Trainer John O’Shea also has a strong hand with ten Godolphin owned youngsters still in contention for the Sires Produce Stakes.

Top Golden Slipper fancy Exosphere heads the O’Shea two year olds after showing his power and ability with a four lengths win in the Group 2 $175,000 Pro-Ride Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on February 28.

Furnaces also has some solid form with two seconds from his last two starts but couldn’t match it with Vancouver when second in the Todman Stakes.

O’Shea’s other two years olds are Heraldic, Inner Circle, Lieder, Moher, Sampeah, Tarquin, Antelucan and Chachapoyas.

Unbeaten filly Always Allison heads the Chris Waller trained two year olds and the More Than Ready filly looks suited to the 1400m after she finished her race off strongly at the end of the 1200m in winning the Group 2 $175,000 Les Johnson Memorial Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on February 28.

Waller’s other two year olds remaining in the Sires Produce Stakes are Devil Hawk and Vanbrugh.

The training partnership of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig also a strong representation with nine left in the first acceptance list – Astro Fame, San Sierra, Wind Force, Air Apparent, Fitnah, Global Good, Hell Or Highwater, Stay With Me and Reemah.

Reemah showed a ton of potential with a fast finishing second to Pride Of Dubai at long odds in the Blue Diamond Stakes and the 1400m will suit her perfectly.

Final acceptances for the Sires Produce Stakes will be taken on Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
