Unchain My Heart Attracts Local Support in Melbourne Cup Betting Markets

While unable to handle the late pace of Admire Rakti when beating just one runner home in the featured Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) last time out, Unchain My Heart is one of just two Australian-bred runners (alongside Fawkner) confirmed in the final field for tomorrow’s feature race at Flemington and is sure to attract the support of patriotic punters in Melbourne Cup betting markets in the hours leading up to jump.

By Al Maher and out of Fly By Night, Unchain My Heart has contested a commendable race record of ten wins and thirteen minor places from her 58 competitive appearances so far and is aiming to become the first eight-year-old mare to find the Melbourne Cup line in the clear on Tuesday.

Displaying a distinct pleasure in lining up on the wide Flemington course in seasons gone by, Unchain My Heart has completed a total of thirteen runs over the famous Victorian surface; securing a total of four race wins and two close second place finishes.

Assured to get the distance amongst a field confirmed to feature many runners yet to compete over two miles, Unchain My Heart has completed three competitive appearances over two miles so far, winning both the 2013 and 2014 editions of the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes at Flemington most notably.

Stamping her claims as one to watch from her maiden racing preparation through the autumn of 2010, Unchain My Heart won a minor over 1400m in just her second competitive tilt and continued to build in form and class on her way to a comfortable win in the Grundfos Handicap (2050m).

Continuing to impress over a 2010/2011 campaign geared towards minor staying events, Unchain My Heart was unable to figure in two black type events towards the end of her 2012 campaign, but quickly registered strong form upon returning to racing in 2013; finishing fourth amongst classy competition in the Listed Roy Higgins Quality (2600m) and pressing forward to her first triumph in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes.

Capping a 2014 autumn preparation with a three length victory in this year’s Andrew Ramsden, Unchain My Heart finished eighth in a minor over 1600m first-up on August 2nd before placing third behind Bagman in the Legacy 2014 Badge Appeal Handicap (200m) on August 16th.

Unlucky to be hampered in the final straight and fourth in the Craig Opie Cup (2500m) on September 6th, Unchain My Heart finished a credible third in the Listed Harry White Classic (2400m) before another luckless run for ninth in the Group 2 Herbert Power Quality (2400m) leading into the Caulfield Cup.

Confirmed to leave from the ideal barrier 5 and charged with carrying just 51.5kgs, Unchain My Heart is currently available at particularly generous odds of $201 for success in Melbourne Cup betting markets of $51 to figure in the places at Ladbrokes Australia.
