Tycoon Tara posted an upset win in the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) first-up a fortnight ago, and the mare did her chances of success today no harm whatsoever when jumping well and immediately taking up the pace in the Show County Quality alongside Vashka.

Offered a clear racing line upon arriving at the final straight, the Written Tycoon mare locked in a fierce sprint battle with race favourite Le Romain, but sustained a strong sprint to the line to post another gutsy win.

Co-trainer Paul Snowden was pleased with the mare’s performance for success in the Show County Quality but revealed a plan is yet to be settled on this time.

“I said during the week that it was no fluke to see her win the other day,” Snowden said.

“It was good to see her do something on top of the ground, it might make people start to take notice of her.

“We’re very, very pleased. We had to change tack after the Missile and I dare say we’re going to have to do it again. We’ll just get home and touch base with everyone, but it’s very pleasing for everyone.”

Jockey Kerrin McEvoy was pleased to pick up the ride on Tycoon Tara in the Show County Quality and was quick to lay the praise on the training efforts of Peter and Paul Snowden, and class of the mare.

“She’s obviously a smart mare and she’s really enjoyed her new lodgings up here in Sydney with Peter and Paul Snowden,” McEvoy said after dismounting.

“She’s thriving and obviously today she’s shown that by going out and winning again after that first-up win on heavy ground.

“Peter and Paul with happy with her. I worked her on Tuesday and again on Thursday and couldn’t have been more happy.

“She’s obviously in terrific form and there’s more option for her in Sydney.”

In taking out the Show County Quality, Tycoon Tara has posted a commendable eight wins and four minors through twenty-four career starts.
