Team Snowden had also accepted with Tycoon Tara in the Group 1 $500,000 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield but withdrew her shortly after the fields were released.

Tycoon Tara looks better placed against the mares in the Golden Pendant but has still struck a crack field that features Group 1 winner First Seal as well as the well performed Pearls and last start winner Heavens Above.

Co-trainer Peter and Paul Snowden have only had Tycoon Tara under their care for three runs and the Written Tycoon mare was able to win first up for her news stable with an all the way win in the Group 2 $175,000 Mark Moran Missile Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on August 6.

Tycoon Tara then scored back to back wins in the Group 3 $125,000 Bob Ingham Show County Quality (1200m) at Randwick on August 20 before running fourth to Mackintosh in the Group 2 $200,000 Task Retail Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill on September 10.

Josh Parr takes over from Blake Shinn on Tycoon Tara who has drawn nicely at barrier two in the ten horse field.

The Snowdens will also saddle up Serene Majesty who is coming off a first up fifth to Heavens Above in the Group 3 $125,000 Irresistible Pools Sheraco Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on September 10.

Brenton Avdulla takes the ride and the Fastnet Rock mare will jump from gate six.

Shinn will re-united with the John Thompson trained First Seal who will be having her first run since finishing twelfth to Winx in the Group 1 $3m The Star Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick on April 2, day one of ‘The Championships’.

First Seal is returning from injury and has drawn beautifully at barrier three.

“She was galloped on and shattered her splint bone second up (when runner-up in the Canterbury Stakes) and we didn’t know until after her run in the Doncaster,” Thompson told racing.com.

“It’s not a weight bearing bone so it was removed and she seems to have fully recovered and is going really well.

“With the injury we’ve held her back a little bit and have brought her up nice and steadily with the view to have her peaking in Melbourne.”

The John O’Shea trained Pearls with James McDonald in the saddle gets her chance to redeem herself from the inside gate after finishing eleventh in the Sheraco Stakes coming out of barrier eleven.

If Pearls can run up to her previous first up win in the Group 3 $125,000 Forum Group Toy Show Quality (1300m) at Randwick on August 20, she will be among the prizemoney again.

Heavens Above was Group1 placed during the Sydney Autumn Carnival when second to Azkadelia in the $1m The Coolmore Legacy Stakes (Queen Of The Turf Stakes) (1600m) at Randwick on April 9 and if she can run up to that will hard to beat.

The Tim Martin trained mare has drawn barrier four with Tye Angland taking the ride again after steering her to victory in the Sheraco Stakes.

In early betting for the Golden Pendant at Ladbrokes.com.au First Seal heads the market order at $3.40 ahead of Heavens Above at $5 and Dixie Blossoms at $7.
