Tycoon Tara Set For McEwen Stakes

Tycoon Tara stamped herself as a filly to watch during an impressive autumn campaign and trainer Symon Wilde is keen to give the rising five-year-old an opportunity on the 2015 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley on September 5.

Tycoon Tara was sent to the spelling paddock after she finished a credible fifth behind Miracles Of Life in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May 2, but she is now back in work and has been aimed towards a first-up tilt at the Moonee Valley sprint that will then dictate the path she follows for the rest of her 2015 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

“She has been back in work for about three weeks and we have been loosely aimed at the McEwen Stakes at this stage and we will just see how she is going at closer to the time after she has a jump-out or two,” Wilde told Racing Ahead.

“That is where we are heading at the moment.

“If she does make it to that race it will really shape her campaign and she does seem to have plenty of speed.

“She led quite easily towards the end of her campaign last time and down the straight she was very quick that day.

“I think it is a great kick-off point and I think that she is probably up to that.”

Tycoon Tara started her summer campaign with a win at Dunkeld on November 15 and she worked her way through the grades in impressive fashion before she took out both the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 14 and the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) at the same venue a fortnight later.

Wilde was thrilled with the progress that Wilde made last preparation and he said that the Written Tycoon mare looks like she has gone to another level both physically and mentally ahead of the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival.

“She has come back with a really good attitude,” Wilde said.

“It is the first decent break that she has had, she had a freshen up during her last campaign, but she had a good break this time and we noticed a difference in her both physically and mentally.

“Physically she is a big, powerful thing now and mentally she is just great and she is really in a good space.”

Tycoon Tara has recorded five wins from her 12 race starts and has accumulated almost $300,000 in prizemoney for connections.
