Twenty-Two Kilograms To Make The Difference For Heart Of Dreams

Trainer Mick Price is confident that his Australian Cup hope Heart Of Dreams has bulked up enough to claim victory in this year’s  race.

Heart Of Dreams currently weighs a whopping 517 kilograms ahead of the race this Saturday, March 12, at Flemington Racecourse.

The Show A Heart gelding weighed an entire 22 kilograms lighter when he contested last year’s Australian Cup, and finished fourth behind Zipping.

“He’s always been a hat rack,” Mick Price said about Heart Of Dreams.

The trainer is thrilled with the way that Heart Of Dreams has held his weight this preparation and has improved his stamina and hopes it will be enough to help the five-year-old come up with the win on Saturday.

While Heart Of Dreams has never won over the 2,000 metre distance before, Mick Price is confident that his gelding will produce something special in the Australian Cup.

“It’s the lesser form that you want to be looking at over 2000, but this year is not what you would call a vintage year,” Price said.

Heart Of Dreams has drawn barrier nine for Saturday’s race and will be ridden by jockey Damien Oliver.
