Lindsay Park co-trainer David Hayes will decide later in the week which of his two fillies, Tulip or Madeenaty, will take their place in the Group 3 $150,000 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Both fillies are listed among the thirteen nominations for the San Domenico Stakes as well as being the top two in the ballot for the $120,000 Super Vobis Three Year Old Fillies Plate (1200m) at The Valley on Saturday.

Hayes will wait until after final acceptance time on Wednesday to decide if Madeenaty heads back to Sydney to continue her Spring Carnival campaign or heads to The Valley and where Tulip will be returning to the racetrack to kick off her Spring program.

“We’ll have a look at the fields and make a decision then,” Hayes said.

“When it’s time to head off on Thursday, one will turn left and one will turn right and head to either our Flemington stable or to our Randwick stable.”

Madeenaty has had one run back from a spell for a second to Crown Witness in the $120,000 Winter Lodge Handicap (1000m) down the Flemington straight on August 5 and Hayes is keen to see the Exceed And Excel filly race back around a turning track.

“She’s a speedy filly who loves racing around a turn,” Hayes said.

Madeenaty is the winner of two of her seven starts with one win down the Flemington straight in the Listed $120,000 Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m) in October last year and one win around a corner in the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2yo (1100m) at Wyong in December before running third behind Houtzen and Chauffeur in the $2m Jeep Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 14.

Chauffeur, who is now prepared by Team Hawkes, is also nominated for the San Domenico Stakes.

Tulip hasn’t raced since running fifth to Invader in the Group 1 $1m Inglis Sires’ (1400m) at Randwick on April 1 which followed a third to She Will Reign in the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill.

The Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig have also nominated Muraahib for the San Domenico Stakes and the Reset colt is also among the entries for the Listed $120,000 Essendon Nissan McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at The Valley on Saturday.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Pariah heads the early market for the San Domenico Stakes at $2.80 with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Tulip at $4.60 with Madeenaty marked at $10 and Muraahib at $31.
