Trainer To Discover If Price Is Right For Winter Carnival Starters

Melbourne trainer Mick Price will use Adelaide’s Super Sunday this weekend to decide on his final team for the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.

With the winter carnival set to step into action from this weekend, Mick Price is will use this Sunday to assess the performances of Echoes Of Heaven and Dubleanny.

Price is hoping to determine whether Echoes Of Heaven has a chance of winning the Group 1 Queensland Derby, which will take place on June 11.

“Echoes Of Heaven will run in the Chairman’s as a lead-up to the SA Derby,” Price said.

“I’m not sure if he’s a Queensland Derby horse. I think he might be.

“He’s a real grinding type of stayer. I’m looking forward to getting him to a mile and a half. I think he’ll go really well there.”

Dubleanny won at Flemington last start and will now continue a campaign that will ultimately lead her to a Winter Stakes start on June 25.

“She’s in good order and pulled up really win since her win on Monday,” Price said.

“So hopefully we end up there and plot a course into the Winter Stakes but we’ll just see what happens in the Goodwood first.”

Should they prove they are capable, Dubleanny and Echoes Of Heaven will join stablemates Rightfully Yours and Heart Of Dreams in Brisbane.
