Berry has already created a huge impression in Hong Kong following a Group 1 success on Military Attack in the 2013 HK$14m The Audemars Piguet QEII Cup (2000m) at Sha Tin in April as well as riding fourteen winners during a six week riding stint last year.

The young jockey also returned to Hong Kong on the weekend where he ran second on the John Moore trained Designs On Rome in the Group 1 HK$6m The Hong Kong Classic Mile (1600m) at Sha Tin.

But he did team up with Moore to win on Smart Forward in the 1200m Class 3.

Berry and Bowman both tweeted that they would be concentrating on the Sydney Autumn Carnival and the ‘The Championships’ before heading off for their overseas commitments.

“Pleased to announce that I will be back in HK after the Sydney Autumn carnival for the end of the season. I am really looking forward.

“To concentrating on Sydney racing for the time being . Thank you to @HKJC_Racing for the opportunity,” Berry tweeted

Bowman also tweeted: “Delighted to announce that I have accepted a 3 month riding contract in Hong Kong. Will be riding in Sydney until after @ChampionshipsRR.”

Tommy Berry’s twin brother Nathan Berry is also heading overseas and will take up a four month riding contract for the Singapore Turf Club, commencing on March 1, 2014.

Nathan Berry has just celebrated the biggest win of his six year riding career after he took out the $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 11 on the Bjorn Baker trained Unencumbered.

Bowman and Tommy Berry are currently sharing second spot on the 2013-2014 Sydney jockey’s premiership table with twenty-nine winners, two behind front runner Christian Reith, while Nathan Berry has ridden twenty-one city winners this season.
