Trainer Joseph Pride is looking for back-to-back wins with Title

Warwick Farm trainer Joseph Pride is looking to back up Title in the $100,000 Listed Civic Stakes at Rosehill Gardens next Saturday after his thrilling Takeover Target Stakes win at Gosford last weekend.

Title won the $100,000 Listed Takeover Target Stakes by an incredible two and a half lengths, in what was an unexpected display of talent.

“The Civic Stakes was always the original plan, I just didn’t expect to win on Friday,” Pride said.

“But that was great.”

Pride said that Title has recovered well from his last start and feels the seven day gap between runs shouldn’t be a problem for the four-year-old.

“He’s seems to have come through the race well so I’d say he’ll be at Rosehill next Saturday for the Civic Stakes,” Pride said.

“I can’t see any reason why he won’t be there at this stage.”

Pride plans to keep jockey Jay Ford on Title for his next assignment.

“He’s had six rides on the horse for four wins, a second and a fourth,” Pride said.

“Most of the guys are back riding in Sydney next week but I couldn’t take him off the horse.”

Title has thrived since he was sent for a short spell after a disappointing two-run campaign earlier this year that saw the horse finish at the rear of both fields.

“I brought him back in and he’s been very consistent in his four runs since then,” Pride said.

Title will go to the Listed Civic Stakes with a race record of seven wins from 17 starts and prize money of more than $350,000.
