The 2017 The Everest results will be known later this afternoon and the highly-anticipated $10 million event is finally here!

The Everest has proven to be a big winner for Racing New South Wales and a massive crowd is set to ascend on Royal Randwick this afternoon to watch 12 of the best sprinters in Australia do battle for an incredible amount of prizemoney.

It is Vega Magic that is currently on top of The Everest betting market with Ladbrokes and there has also been money for Chautauqua, while Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign has been the big drifter.

There is no Winx in the Craven Plate, but the $500,000 still has a short-priced favourite in the form of Epsom Handicap winner Happy Clapper and he looks as though he will be incredibly difficult to beat.

Don’t Give A Damn proved far too strong for his rivals in the Highway Consolation at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Kerrin McEvoy took Don’t Give A Damn straight to the front in the early stages of the Highway Consolation and the odds-on favourite was always in control of the race.

McEvoy let him go at the top of the straight and he quickly put a couple of lengths on the rest of the field to cruise to another impressive victory.

Race 2 (12:40pm) – $100,000 Victory Vein Plate Results

Legend Of Condor led from start to finish to take out the Victory Vein Plate at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Legend Of Condor showed plenty of early speed in his only barrier trial and that was the case again in the Victory Vein Plate as he dominated the race throughout.

Spin came at Legend Of Condor late on the inside, but Legend Of Condor was able to hang on to make an impressive start to his racing debut.

Race 3 (1:15pm) – $125,000 Listed Reginald Allen Quality Results

Torvill showed an impressive turn-of-foot to record an upset win in the 2017 Reginald Allen Quality at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Regiment and Workdrinks cleared out from the rest of the field at the top of the straight and looked as though they would fight out the finish, but they both tired late and Torvill exploded from the pack in the final 100 metres to finish over the top of her rivals.

Jockey Jason Collett believes that Torvill still has plenty to learn, but is a filly with a great deal of ability.

After All That held-off a flying Suncraze to take out the Anniversary Highway at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Suncraze flew down the outside and looked as though he was going to catch After All That – who snuck on the fence – but the Rodney Northam-trained galloper was able to cling on to take out the $200,000 race.

After All That was ridden by the popular Robert Thompson and the veteran hoop was clearly delighted to have taken out a race on The Everest Day.

Invincibella made justified her short price with a comfortable victory in the 2017 The Star Mile at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Punters were very keen on Invincibella throughout the week and she always travelled like the winner.

Lubiton took up the running and gave a good sight, but Invincibella was able to finish over the top of her rival to make it two wins from as many starts this preparation.

Big Duke produced an outstanding staying effort to return to winning form in the St Leger Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Jockey Brenton Avdulla gave Big Duke a simply outstanding ride in transit and he cruised to the victory at the top of the straight before powering away from his rivals.

Big Duke is qualified for the Melbourne Cup following his Sydney Cup placing and he now looks set to head to ‘the race that stops a nation’.

In Her Time made it twos wins from as many starts with another classy win in the 2017 Sydney Stakes at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Corey Brown gave In Her Time a lovely run in transit just behind the leaders and she cruised up to Ball Of Muscle at the top of the straight.

It took her a while to get past Ball Of Muscle, but she eventually wore him down and she held-off Impending to claim another feature race win.

Redzel stamped himself as one of the best sprinters in Australia with an outstanding win in The Everest at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

It was Houtzen that took up the running in the early stages of The Everest and Redzel settled right on his tail in the perfect position.

Redzel took up the running when he was asked for an extra effort and he never looked like being caught in the final 100 metres.

Classic Uniform upset Happy Clapper to win the 2017 Craven Plate at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Happy Clapper was extremely well-backed heading into the Craven Plate and started the race as a dominant favourite, but he ran into a rock hard-fit Classic Uniform.

Classic Uniform looked like a sitting duck at the top of the straight and Happy Clapper loomed on the outside, but he just could not get past the gallant front-runner.

A tough day for punters concluded with more heartbreak as extreme outsider Grand Condor to win the Sydney Harbour Exclusive Sprint at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

It was a blanket finish in the Sydney Harbour Exclusive Sprint and there were countless winning chances at the 100 metre mark, but it was Grand Condor that claimed victory.

There was a bizarre incident in the race as both Hugh Bowman and Brenton Avdulla were thrown from their mounts Machinegun Jubs and Balancing Act at the start in separate incidents.
