Team Snowden Pleasantly Surprised To Pick Up Miracles Of Life

Trainer Paul Snowden admits that he was pleasantly surprised to be given the opportunity to train Miracles Of Life after she was purchased by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast yesterday.

Stonestreet purchased Miracles Of Life for $900,000, as well as her dam Dazzling Gazelle, and revealed yesterday that the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes winner would remain in work and join the Team Snowden stable.

Snowden told Racing Ahead that both he and his father had forged a strong working relationship with Stonestreet’s bloodstock advisor John Moyninhan, but said he did not expect to be given the opportunity to trainer the talented filly.

“We have got to know John that has purchased her in the past few months and he brought us a really nice yearling at Easter and it is really good to have his support,” Snowden said.

“When he rang Dad yesterday afternoon we were pleasantly surprised.”

Miracles Of Life has not been seen at the races since she tired late to finish 16th behind Smokin’ Joey in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville on May 10 and Snowden said that the stable are yet to make any immediate plans for the daughter of Not A Single Doubt.

Snowden expects Miracles Of Life to remain in Australia for a 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign, but said that he is unsure whether she will stay when she is retired to serve as a broodmare or be sent to the Stonestreet’s Kentucky-based stud farm in the United States.

“He has basically left it up to us to decide what we want to do with her,” Snowden said.

“She is due to arrive in about half an hours’ time from the Gold Coast and we will give her a few days just to settle down and we will have a good look at her and see where she is at.

“It all depends on what he wants to with her as well – whether she goes to stud here in Australia or over in The US where they stud a little later, which gives us a little bit more time with her.

“He purchased the dam of Miracles Of Life as well, so he must have an eye for the family.

“They are respected racing people over in America and a breeding operation and I think that he is a really astute judge.”

Miracles Of Life had 12 starts for former trainer Daniel Clarken and recorded five victories including her famous win in the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes.
