Tarzino was put up at the tight quote of $2.50 at Ladbrokes.com.au when the Rosehill Guineas field was released on Wednesday ahead of Melbourne filly Jameka at $6.50 and Randwick Guineas winner Le Romain at $7.

The Mick Price trained Tarzino will be having his third run back since winning the Group 1 $1.5m AAMI Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington during the 2016 Melbourne Spring Carnival and deserves to be at the top of the market order.

The Tavistock colt resumed for a first up fourth to Mahuta in the Group 2 $200,000 Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 13, making up plenty of ground from the back and then went within a nose of taking out the Group 1 $750,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 5 when second to the Darren Weir trained Palentino.

Price has been happy with the progress of Tarzino since his Victoria Derby victory and will head to  Sydney in top order.

“He worked the reserved way at Caulfield on Saturday morning and hugged the rail,” Price told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I’m very happy with him.”

Tarzino will then head towards the Group 1 $2m BMW Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick on April 2, the first day of ‘The Championships’ before being prepared for another Spring Carnival campaign.

“He comes up there for the Guineas and then the Australian Derby,” Price said.

“I would like him to have the next couple of runs then have a spell and get ready for the spring.”

Tarzino has drawn well at barrier two in the fourteen horse Rosehill Guineas field and will be ridden again by top Melbourne jockey Craig Newitt.

Second favourite Jameka, the winner of the Group 1 $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington last Spring, is also fitter for two runs back from a spell and is coming off a last start fifth in the Australian Guineas.

The Ciaron Maher trained Jameka has drawn the outside of the field with Damien Oliver to ride.

Le Romain scored a major upset win over the $1.30 favourite Press Statement in the Group 1 $1m Girvan Waugh Randwick Guineas (1600m) at Randwick on March 5 and trainer Kris Lees is looking forward to claiming another Group 1 victory on Saturday.

Regular rider Christian Reith has retained the ride and Le Romain will jump from gate seven.

Rosehill Guineas market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $2.50 Tarzino, $6.50 Jameka, $7 Le Romain, $9 Vanbrugh, $10 River Wild, Montaigne, $11 Gold Ambition, $41 Etymology, I’m Belucci, Crosley Hotshot, $51 Shards, $61 Hursley, $71 Spanish Stride, $81 Oh So Splendid.
