Tangled draws midfield in capacity BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes

Trainer Chris Waller’s in-form two year old Tangled has drawn a midfield barrier in the capacity field for the Group 2 $250,000 Mitavite BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

In a field of eighteen plus five emergencies Tangled came up with the number ten marble but could move in one of two places at start time with two of the reserves drawing inside of him.

Tangled only broke his maiden status two starts back in a 1350m 2yo Handicap at Wyong on April 19 but quickly stepped up to the big stage with a come from behind win in the Group 2 $175,000 Moet Champagne Classic (1200m) at Doomben on May 13.

Kerrin McEvoy was in the saddle for his Champagne Classic win and has retained the mount in the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes.

The vastly improved Saint Patricks Day is the best drawn from the three Chris Munce two year olds, coming up with barrier eight with the in-form Ronnie Stewart taking the ride again.

Saint Patricks Day is also the winner of his last two starts and showed his liking for the soft Eagle Farm track with an impressive last start win in the Listed $100,000 Dalrello Stakes (1200m) on April 29.

Stablemate Champ Elect drew barrier thirteen with Damian Browne booked to ride while Ours To Keep is the widest drawn of Munce’s trio at barrier fifteen with Dwayne Dunn taking over from Browne.

Hugh Bowman has stuck with the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Taking Aim in the BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes after the pair combined for a win in the Group 3 $125,000 Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on May 6.

But Bowman is facing a completely different set of circumstances this week with Taking Aim drawing barrier twenty-one in the original drew as opposed to the inside gate he jumped out of at the Gold Coast.

Team Snowden also accepted with the High Chaparral colt Icon Of Dubai who was relegated to fourth emergency with barrier seventeen.

Kiwi Group 1 winning filly Melody Belle has drawn around the middle of the pack at barrier nine with Opie Bosson booked to ride, replacing apprentice Michael McNab who steered the Commands filly to victory in the Group 1 NZ$225,000 Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni in New Zealand on April 1.

Brenton Avdulla has stuck with All Too Huiying who has drawn in close at barrier four.

The Gary Moore trained All Too Hard colt is yet to win a race but showed he is up to the class of Saturday’s two year old feature with a solid second to Tangled in the Champagne Classic at Doomben.
