Trainer Nigel Blackiston has revealed that talented filly Suavito will have her next race start in the Alexandra Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on March 21 and could head to Sydney for the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m), if she is successful in the Listed event.

Suavito returned to the races with a strong third behind Solicit and Marianne in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on March 8 and Blackiston told Sky Racing HQ this morning that he could not have been more impressed with the daughter of Thorn Park.
Both the Australian Oaks at Royal Randwick on April 19 and the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on April 26 loom as potential targets for Suavito, but Blackiston will wait until he sees how she performs in the Alexandra Stakes before making any future plans.
“She was terrific first-up,” Blackiston said.
“Damien was very, very pleased with her and she will run at Moonee Valley on Friday week.
“If she can win that Listed race we will make a decision whether we come to Sydney for the Oaks or we go to Adelaide for their Oaks.”
Blackiston is also looking to bring You’re So Good to Sydney for the autumn carnival; with the daughter of Savabeel included in the nominations for the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m), Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) and the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m).
You’re So Good failed to replicate her impressive autumn form, which was highlighted by a second place finish in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m), during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival, but she has recaptured her best form since returning to the races in March.
The four-year-old finished second behind Angels Beach in the Mrs Mac’s Beef Pie Sprint (1100m) at Flemington on March 1 before recording another second place finish in the Listed Matrice Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville yesterday and Blackiston said he is very happy with the talented mares return to form.
“You’re So Good has come back in great order,” the Flemington-based trainer said.
“She was very unlucky not to win the Guineas last autumn.
“She had a very average spring carnival, she didn’t come up, but her two runs back this time have been outstanding.
“I am hoping to bring her up.”
Blackiston is chasing his first win at Group 1 level since he took out the 2010 edition of The BMW (2400m) with Littorio.
