Adelaide trainer Daniel Clarken is confident Miracles Of Life can be more than just a juvenile star, with the Blue Diamond winner showing strong development in the early stages of her spring preparation.

The flying filly’s dominant Blue Diamond win was one of the feel-good stories of the autumn as she was partnered by apprentice jockey Lauren Stojakovic to defeat the big Melbourne stables in the $1 million sprint.

While her speed as a two-year-old was unquestionable, her size was a minor concern. But despite her slight build Clarken is confident she has made the necessary development to shine as a spring three-year-old.

“She’s grown marginally but she’s certainly thickened up. She’s quite a strong filly now,” Clarken told Radio Sports National.

“She’s certainly grown and developed enough to suggest she can go on with it.”

Unbeaten from four career starts, Clarken said he will follow the tried and true formula of remaining patient and letting Miracles Of Life tell him what is the most appropriate spring path.

“Nothing’s set in stone, I think we’ll do what we did originally with her and just let her tell us,” Clarken said.

“She ran the 1200m well but whether she gets any further we’ll let her tell us what to do.

“She’s back in work. She’s into her fourth week, we’ve got to remind her she’s just jogging around at the moment as she wants to get on the job.”

Clarken said it is likely she will trial in Adelaide before heading to Melbourne to begin her spring campaign.
