The Stradbroke Handicap is an option for Ghisoni who showed her class to score a dominant win in the Group 3 $150,000 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben today.

The Godolphin stable hold a very high opinion of Ghisoni ($1.85 favourite) and she was able to reward them when she dug deep in the straight to hold off the strong finish of Cradle Me ($9).

One of the roughies in the field, local filly Beatniks, was able to fill third spot at $31.

Ghisoni began well from the outside barrier and James McDonald was happy to settle her just behind the leader Blueberry Hill.

McDonald then waited until the filly was well balanced in the straight before releasing the brakes and Ghisoni went on to score an impressive win.

Stable representative Darren Beadman said that trainer John O’Shea will now have to make the decision if he is to run the Lonhro filly against the older horses in the Group 1 $1.5m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm in a fortnight or run against the fillies and mares in the Group 2 $200,000 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) on the same day.

The Group 1 $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Club Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 25 is also in the mix.

“Will she run in the Stradbroke? Hang on I will ring Johnny (O’Shea). He will make the decision,” Beadman said.

“I sure he will let the dust settle. He has got a couple of options there.”

“The way that she did it and run the time. The boys were saying here that the time she run hasn’t been run in eighteen years.”

“And she was strong on the line which was positive.”

Ghisoni was having her first start today since finishing fifth to Japonisme in the Group 2 $500,000 Arrowfield 3yo Sprint (1200m) at Randwick on April 9 and Beadman said that she would take great benefit from today’s run.

“She is not fully wound up. Having that in mind she hasn’t run for a while,” Beadman said.
