Trainer Ciaron Maher is considering testing the toughness of last Saturday’s Doomben winner Srikandi by backing her up in the Group 3 $150,000 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben this weekend.

Srikandi made a one act affair of the Listed $100,000 Designline Graphics Juanmo Stakes (1200m) at Doomben last Saturday and the Caulfield trainer is keen to send to her around again against the fillies and mares.
Maher said that the Dubawi filly has pulled up that good after her two and a quarter lengths win that he nominated her for the Glenlogan Park Stakes.
“She has pulled up so well I have nominated her for the Glenlogan on Saturday,” Maher told Racenet.
“Her win on Saturday was fairly soft so I am looking to run her again on Saturday, she just keeps improving and could not be happier with her.”
Maher also wants to run Srikandi in the Group 2 $350,000 Sky Racing Queensland Guineas (1400m) at Eagle Farm the following week and is also considering a run in the Group 1 $1.36m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 if he thinks she has earned a start.
“She would get in at the minimum 50.5 kilograms for the Stradbroke and I am looking at running her if she continues to run the way she is,” Maher said.
Maher will be setting the lightly raced three year old filly a huge task if he was to saddle her up every week for a month during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.
The Queensland Guineas is an exempt free race for the Stradbroke Handicap and Srikandi would have to win it to be guaranteed a start in the Group 1 sprint.
Juanmo Stakes winning jockey Glen Boss has no doubt that Srikandi is well above average but has his reservations about the filly taking on the best open class sprinters in the land.
“She is a very strong filly and really run through the line there. She had few lengths left there,” Boss said after Srikandi’s win in the Juanmo Stakes.
“You have to put into perspective she is winning fillies races and you have to go into the Stradbroke against the boys, you are talking lengths.”
“She is strong and very aggressive and she won untouched again today. She has a good couple of sectionals in her.”
Srikandi is one of twenty-four entered for the Glenlogan Park Stakes for the fillies and mares and will again be facing up to La Pieta and Platinum Rocker who finished second and third to her in the Listed $150,000 Turangga Farm Silk Stocking (1200m) at the Gold Coast on May 3.
Other notable entries are the John Thompson trained Peron who is coming off a fifth to Famous Seamus in the Group 1 $400,000 Bundaberg Distilling Co. BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben on May 10 and Plucky Belle from the Peter Moody stable who ran second to Aerobatics in the Group 3 $150,000 The 2014 Darley Crown (1300m) at Hawkesbury on May 3.
Sunshine Coast trainer Caitlain Lavin has nominated Pickabee who ran third to Srikandi last Saturday and Caulfield trainer Mick Price has nominated Jazz Song following her second to Miracles Of Life in the Group 2 $250,000 Sportingbet Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May 3.
